We started the day with another great breakfast at the hotel and then planned on heading to Cork City Gaol (http://corkcitygaol.com/). It is a castle-like, restored 19th-century prison but on the way we went by Fitzergerald Park right across from University College Cork and found an amazing playground for the kids. It was great. The kids played for over an hour and Elza and I sat and talked and planned the second half of our adventure in Ireland. Sorry no pictures from the playground.

After the playground we went to the English Market in Cork which was amazing. It has been operating as a food market in Cork since 1788. It reminded me of Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia but with more! Meats, cheeses, endless produce. (Elza is actually headed there right now to get food so we can cook and awesome Birthday Dinner for the twins tomorrow night.). We wandered the market, got a little bite to eat and then rode a Ferris wheel that was set up in downtown cork.

After a short afternoon nap, movie and for some, Lego building. We went to Dwyers of Cork. A pub/ restaurant just up the street from our hotel. It was great. Actually the whole time in Ireland has been great. Elza and I have been blown away by how kind everyone has been. The vibe has been so different than London and has made us so grateful that we had to make a change to our initial plan.

We check out of our hotel in cork today and head just south of Kilarney National Park to an Air BNB in the Gap of Dunloe. Tomorrow is the twins 9th birthday. We are surprising them with a special adventure to a Sheep Herding Farm and then cooking a special dinner for them. The house we are staying at looks lovely. Love and Happiness to All! -Mike
